Sadly on Saturday morning following Thanksgiving we all drove Kathy down to the Saratoga Train Station so she could head back home to her own family. About a year ago the kids had their first experiences with the metro when we went to see Kathy's family in Virginia. This was their first real train station though. We weren't sure if we would be able to pry Ryan away without a multitude of tears.
The kids had a great time looking around enjoying their last few minutes with Aunt Kathy while we were waiting.
The big moment of arrival!
"Bye bye train..." says Ryan reluctantly. I'm still not sure what made him the saddest - seeing the train go, seeing Aunt Kathy go, or seeing Aunt Kathy go on the train without him. My guess is that it was probably a little of all of it. As a surprise the tears that came were actually from Alicia who was only consoled by the promise of somehow seeing Aunt Kathy again soon.
